You're looking forward to your next winter vacation and are still looking for the right snow chains for your Tesla. Then we have something for you here.
Before we introduce you to our suitable snow chains, you will first get the most important information.
Tesla recommends only using snow chains designed for the vehicles, otherwise damage to the wheel suspension and other vehicle parts may occur. Of course, the König brand snow chains we offer are certified by Tesla and are sold by Tesla itself - at a more expensive price. The snow chains may also only be used on the rear axle - unlike other manufacturers. The next note applies primarily to the Aero and Gemini rims (18" Model 3, 19" Model Y), because the hubcap used on these rims must be removed beforehand to avoid scratches and abrasions.
Attaching the snow chain is quick and easy. Depending on the version, this must either be connected to the inner end of the tire or simply placed on the tread. The König brand snow chains are pulled into the correct position and tightened when starting off; it is not necessary to stop and tighten again. It's best to watch the assembly yourself in the following video:

Premium variant
Since there is a larger price difference between the two variants, the most important differences are listed below:
- Driving comfort is better thanks to the closed chain system and there is no knocking noise like with normal snow chains
- The steel chain stays ensure better grip on ice
- Perfect adaptation to different tire profiles
- Requires 0mm clearance on the inside of the wheel
- Easier installation without removing snow from under and on the car
- No points of contact between chain and aluminum rim
If you have 21" rims on your Model Y or 20" rims on the Model 3, please note that only the premium version is suitable.
